With a career that spans back into the ’60s, Race was the standard for professional wrestling for decades. Spending time working in nearly every major wrestling promotion worldwide he had memorable rivalries with the likes of Dusty Rhodes, Terry Funk, Ric Flair, and Pat Patterson.

With new light being shown on a revitalized NWA Championship scene Race was seeing a younger group of hungry wrestlers persuing the title that he had a lock on for so many years. Race was a legend in the truest sense of the world, and pro-wrestling will miss him.
