Straight from cinnamony center of Juan’s house, AND the NOW open Hall of Justice Comics & Collectibles comic book shop, we bring you the 29th episode of the Thinking Outside the Long Box podcast! This is an extra large issue, but it’s worth it! The three interviews make this episode a must listen!!
As always, Juan and Gabe tell you about the past couple of weeks in pop culture. There is a Pometheus battle, as well as our usual amazing discussions!! In the middle of the episode we took a week break, and we closed the show WITH Jon in the house!! That end segment is HILARIOUS!!
Our first interview comes from James Bretney of Lucha Comics!! He tells us about all of the awesome works that he has coming down the pipeline! He says that at this stage in time, he’s still trying to find his audience, so we may have a few different types of books coming out soon. His take on realism in comic books is unique, and one that seems really fresh!
Interview number two, comes from the AMAZING Tyler Crook!! As many of you know, Tyler is the AWESOME artist for the ever popular, Harrow County! This is one of the BEST books that Dark Horse is putting out right now! Not only does he tell us about Harrow County, but he’s a big process guy, so we also get a behind the scenes view of the process it takes to get his beautiful art, onto the page. We also learn about his southern roots, and IF he gives any inspiration to Cullen, the writer. This is definitely a hot book, and Tyler is such a great guy, make sure to tune in for this one!!
Our last interview is with Christ Hunt, of Z2 Comics!! Carver: The Paris Story sounds like the “noiresque” book that you should be putting into your pull, at your local comic book shop! If it’s not in your pull, it’s already out, make sure you tell your store to order it for you!! We delve DEEP into Chris’ psyche, as he gives us an AMAZING conversation about how/who Carver came to be. You’re not going to want to miss this conversation about life and death. Chris brings a upbringing to this comic book, and it definitely shows. Visit his website, and check out the awesome live action movie starring Chris AS Carver!! You’ll get a kick out of it!!
Remember, you can ALWAYS let us know what you think! We can only think of so many things to talk about every other week, and would LOVE to get some feedback and ideas from all of you out there who are listening!! You can send mp3s and email to our email address. Also, join the conversations on our Facebook Page and Twitter Page. Also, if you have good feedback, please leave it for us on iTunes and Stitcher!! That’s one way to help us climb the ranks into podcast glory!!
