TOTLB 108 Udder Maddness

And we’re BACK to Hall of Justice Comics & Collectibles!! The whole gang, almost, is here, and it’s always a little crazy when we’re all together! At this point in time, only a few people had seen Captain Marvel, but we do speak about all the “controversy that surrounded the movie. Plus, Jon tells us about Sharkey the bounty hunter, and some of the other books that are coming out. We also talk about Idris Elba taking over for Will Smith on Suicide Squad, and Brightburn!

Our #popcultureclassic for this episode, is the 1997 crime film, L.A. Confidential. The movie stars Kevin Spacey, Kim Basinger, Guy Pearce, and Russell Crowe. Our Patreon supporter, Jason, has been on a real Guy Pearce kick, and that is why this movie was chosen. We discuss the movie, but the conversation really turns into the state of the movie industry, including if there really are anymore bankable actors, with a namesake. Or, if the likes of Al Pacino, and Robert De Niro are actors of the past.

Remember, you can ALWAYS let us know what you think! We can only think of so many things to talk about every other week, and would LOVE to get some feedback and ideas from all of you out there who are listening!! TOTLB 104 Jeremy and Marsha

It’s always fun when the whole gang is together!! Episode 104 takes us to the NEW Hall of Justice Comics & Collectibles!! If you haven’t been to HOJ Comics, you definitely need to go visit! If you’re looking for a new comic book shop, even out of state, Jon is one of the best owners there is!! As normal when we get together with Jon, he gives us the low down on some of the new comics coming out, and any changes he see’s since they moved to the new location!

Our #popcultureclassic for this episode was 1999’s, The Matrix!! Sounds like many of us have very fond memories of this movie, even if some of those memories are short, because some of us are young! We get to talk about whether The Matrix would work as a movie now, how it holds up, and if all of these types of movies comes from this movie. Also, is there too much “bullet time” in these movies?

Remember, you can ALWAYS let us know what you think! TOTLB 098 HOJ Moves

Two episodes until our 100th episode, season 1 finale! It has been a long time coming, and a lot of years in the making, but we are finally closer and closer to an awesome milestone! But for now, onto episode 98!

No interviews, for this episode, just pure hilarity!! We are at the Hall of Justice Comics and Collectibles, for what ended up being one of it’s final days! As, during the episode, we learned that Jon was picking up, and moving his shop to a bigger location! It’s only a few seconds away, but it affords him MUCH more space!! We’re happy for him, and get to congratulate him onto his next ventures!!

Also, we obviously speak about all of the news in entertainment as well. We speak a lot about the comic books that Gabe has been reading, and some of the comic books that Jon/Dominic are excited about coming out. Also, one of our Patreon supporters (Chad) offers up some chili peppers for us to try as we do the episode. It’s a funny way to end the show, and it’s a fitting way to end our last episode at the current Hall Of Justice Comics & Collectibles! It will be missed, but there were many great times had there!

Our #popcultureclassic for this show is the 2014, James Franco & Seth Rogan movie, The Interview!! There is a surprising “thumb” in this review!! But, we speak about the movie itself, and how much of a risk it was, or wasn’t, for the movie itself to even come out!!

totlb-916-300
Hello everyone!! Episode 67 comes to you all the way from sunny California! This is our coverage of San Diego Comic Con!
San Diego Comic Con, is fast becoming just a regular event in our lineup. This is Juan’s second year going, and Jon’s third year going. This is our first year in which we did any kind of recording while we were at the event! This is that coverage!! We talk about going to see Kevin Smith, all the stars that Jon got to meet through the weekend, and what our favorite parts of this years show were. Plus, special appearances by Carissa, who learns a few things about imprints, and Image/Skybound.
We do have one awesome interview during this episode, that we did back home! The weekend of August 25th, is Colorado Springs Comic Con! We will be covering this comic con as members of the press! With that being said, in this episode we speak with Susan Soares, the “Press Relations Manager” at Altered Reality Entertainment, the company putting on the show. Susan tells us about some of the guests, how it all came to be, and how they acquired the naming rights to the building, that the event is now housed in. It is a very cool interview, and we are very excited to be spending the weekend at this event!

TOTLB 061 Free Comic Book Day 2017

totlb-916-300
Hi all!! Our 61st episode comes from Hall of Justice Comics & Collectibles, where we celebrated FREE COMIC BOOK DAY!
Special guest hosts, Dominic “DomPee’s” Pacheco, and Michael “midget porn” Kuyrk, join me for this awesome event, as Gabe was celebrating the birthday of his youngest daughter!
Our pick for this recording’s #popcultureclassic is the 2003 comic book, Superman: Red Son. This book is all about the ramifications, of what would have happened, had Superman landed in Russia, instead of the United States. Is he a bad guy? Does he still want what is best for humanity? It’s a really good read, and we have some pretty cool opinions on the book!
No “official” interviews for this episode, but we did speak to some of the artists that were on hand. Frankie Serna told us about his Denver Comic Con kickoff party, and a small amount of information about his new book with Herb. Herb spoke to us mostly about this book, which is about a soldier who can never “die.” It’s a 3-5 year story, and we are super excited to see how it unfolds!! We also spoke to many of the awesome attendee’s, and our smallest listener, Marika, makes a special appearance!
Remember, you can ALWAYS let us know what you think! We can only think of so many things to talk about every other week, and would LOVE to get some feedback and ideas from all of you out there who are listening!! You can send mp3s and email to our email address. Also, join the conversations on our Facebook Page and Twitter Page. Also, if you have good feedback, please leave it for us on iTunes and Stitcher!!
