DOLPH: UNBREAKABLE

It’s funny to me how projects and people are so important to us at different points in our lives, and then all of a sudden they disappear from our minds, and, not that we no longer care, those things just seem to be fleeting, even if we think we care about them a lot. Dolph Lundgren was a pretty big part of my childhood. From Masters of the Universe, to Rocky & Universal Soldier, Dolph was everywhere in my childhood…………and then he was just gone.

It’s not until something like Dolph: Unbreakable comes along to remind us of what our childhood was. Watching other celebrities, and family talk about him and his career, reminds me of the projects that he helped create, that meant a lot to me in my life. While I’m not normally a documentary/biography guy, I am one to reminisce, and it’s projects like this that just suck you back in and give you the feels!

Once I remembered how Dolph’s career made me feel in my childhood, I had to do my research to see what life is like for him now. To find out he had cancer while he was filming Aquaman, and the Expendables 4 is crazy, because even though you feel so attached to these humans, you have to remember that you’re not actually a part of their lives. Even if someone like Dolph is your idol, you can’t actual show them how much they mattered in times like that, and that stings a little bit. Sometimes you can reach out on their social media, but most of the time, the only thing that you can do is support their projects and hope that in some way you’re comforting them through tough times!
