Not only is our topic today a pop culture classic, but so is the original movie that this spawned from. Tron and Tron Legacy both deserve a spot on anybody’s list of pop culture classics. While they may not be the “best” movies in the genre, they represent something that is not seem too much in mainstream movies anymore, and that is art. Both movies take the time to not only try and be entertaining and tell a good story, but they also do they’re best to be appealing to the eyes, with some awesome graphics!
“Sam (Garrett Hedlund), the son of famous video-game developer Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges), has been haunted for a long time by his father’s mysterious disappearance. A strange signal draws Sam to Flynn’s Arcade, and he is pulled into the same cyberworld in which his father, its creator, has been trapped for 20 years. With fearless warrior Quorra (Olivia Wilde), Kevin and Sam seek to escape from a universe that, while magnificent, is far more advanced and dangerous than Kevin had ever imagined.”
This sequel tells a linear story from the original, and follows Kevin’s son, Sam, into the world of Tron. Sam has been troubled ever since the disappearance of his dad, and is on the verge of losing the whole company that his father started. While searching for his father, he enters the world of Tron, and is charged with defeating a familiar face, and bringing with him, a unicorn, back to the “real” world!
