We had the absolute pleasure of sitting down with Image Comics creator, Dennis Culver. Dennis is the writer of the upcoming book from Image, Burnouts. Burnouts is rated M, and will debut on September 19th, 2018! Make sure you tell your local comic book store that you want it added to your pull, so they can order it!

Description of the book from Image – Writer DENNIS CULVER (E Is for Extinction) and artist GEOFFO (layout artist of Marvel Rising) team up for a new ongoing series that combines the paranoia of They Live with Stranger Things. To save their friends and families, a group of high school teenagers must fight off an attack on their town by a secret alien invasion… but they can only see the aliens if they’re completely wasted. The Burnouts are saving the world one puff at a time!

Did you read that right? They can ONLY “see the aliens if they’re completely wasted.” This conversation with Dennis is absolutely hilarious. Imagine the looks you would get when you try and save the earth from invading aliens, but nobody can see them PLUS you’re high!! Who the heck would believe that rag tag group of saviors? Well, listen to the interview, and read the book to find out! Dennis and Geoffo did a great job of coming up with something new and different. This book sounds like the hero book you’ve been looking for, that isn’t the same as everything else out there!

Number 83 is out and it’s a good one guys! This one is for our friend, Big Hoss AKA Larry AKA Dibbles AKA Miguel! We miss you already buddy!

Our #popcultureclassic for this show is the 1987, Bill Paxton & Jenette Goldstein movie, Near Dark! It’s kind of a western, punk movie, with vampires! It’s definitely a weird but fun ride!!
We have one amazing interview for this episode!! FROM Near Dark, the one and only Jenette Goldstein joins us around the table!! She tells us all about Near Dark, and how she got the opportunity to be in the movie. Plus, she tells us about some of the people in the movie, and some touching stories about Bill Paxton. Of course, we HAD to discuss Aliens as well!! Plus, she owns a bra fitting boutique, how cool is that!!

TOTLB 071 Game Over Man

What is going on Longbox listeners!! Holy crap do we have a good show for you all!! Tim, AKA Agrovated Artist, is in the house!! He’s in the house talking to us about ALL things entertainment! He has seen Blade Runner 2049, so we end up speaking about cult classic sequels, and whether a sequel to a cult classic can be a success!? We talk about the shitty Pacific Rim trailer, and everything else that has come out in the last two weeks that we sat down to record!! PLUS, the insanity that is Rick & Morty szechuan sauce!
Our #popcultureclassic for this show is the amazing sequel, Aliens!! THIS is the biggest reason that we have Tim Huskey sitting in with us, as this is one of his FAVORITE movies! We talk everything Aliens. Everything about the movie, the timeline, characters, and where it falls in the mix of the others. Not only that, BUT, we also have an awesome interview with William Hope, who plays the principal character, Lieutenant Gorman! He tells us about he gave up a spot in the movie, Full Metal Jacket, in order to take a lead role in the Aliens movie!! Plus, he tells us about some of the other projects he is working on right now!! This is an awesome insight into a great movie!!
We also have two other great interviews!!
Friend of the show, Sam Johnson, tell us about the Geek Girl collection!! At the last time we spoke, only issue 0 and 1 were out. Now, we get to ask Sam about the whole collection!! The story is about Ruby, who wins a pair “super-tech glasses” in a game of strip poker!! This is her story, of adapting to her newfound powers, and how she navigates this new world!! Sam is awesome, and puts out great work!!
Our last interview for this show, was with Roger Rautio, of the Comic Book Hall of Fame!! This has been a long and arduous journey, that started in the 90’s. He tells us about why he thought the world even needed a comic book, Hall of Fame. Plus, trademarking it, getting the website, and all the legal paperwork that goes into securing such a thing. His goal at the end of the day, is fairly reasonable, and we are hoping that they secure a building, to house such a monumental hall of fame!!
