Shop Day, which is Saturday, November 18
th, which also happens to be
Justice League Day! Lots of cool exclusive comics, hardcovers, etc available at
shops participating in LCSD, and you can grab a free copy of New 52 Justice
League #1 on Saturday too! So get out, see an awesome movie and get some
comics! Speaking of, lets dive into this weeks new releases!
From Dark Horse this week, a new chapter in
the Hellboy mythos kick off with Rasputin Voice of the Dragon #1. A conspiracy
involving the Third Reich and a dead member of a sinister secret society sets
Professor Bruttenholm on his first mission – to find the man who’d soon bring
Hellboy to earth. The mad Russian sorcerer Rasputin had been thought dead since
1916, when a group of noblemen sought to end his influence over the tsar. Now
Rasputin works with the most twisted members of Hitler’s inner circle, and he’s
about to cross paths with the man who’ll go on to found the Bureau for
Paranormal Research and Defense.

From DC this week, the one-shot that everyone
has been waiting for finally hits racks with Batman Who Laughs #1! The
enigmatic narrator of the Dark Knights one-shots finally gets his story told.
Written by James Tynion with art by Riley Rossmo, this story is sure to turn
the level of creepiness in the DC universe up to eleven!

From Image this week, 2 more new series come
barreling out of the gates with Dark Fang #1. Written by Miles Gunter with art
by Kelsey Shannon. Her name is Valla. In
life she was a fisherwoman. In death she is a vampire residing peacefully on
the bottom of the ocean. When a mysterious dark plague descends upon her
aquatic paradise, she must venture to the surface in search of
answers. What she finds is a world headed towards an environmental
collapse that will eventually wipe out her food supply. If Valla is to continue
to have the blood she needs to survive, then she must stop the fossil fuel
industries from destroying the planet-no matter the cost.

Also new this week is
Evolution #1. Written by James Asmus, Joe Keatinge, Chris Sebela, and Josh
Williamson, and illustrated by Joe Infurnari and Jordan Boyd. Human evolution
has taken millions of years to get to this stage. But next week, we become
something new. Around the world, humanity is undergoing rapid and unpredictable
changes, and only three individuals seem to notice that their world is being
reborn. But what can they do about it?

From Marvel this week, the Sorcerer Supreme
gets a new groove with Doctor Strange #381! Written by Donny Cates with art by
Gabriel Hernandez Walta. Evil is everywhere
and the world needs the Sorcerer Supreme more than ever. But is the world ready
for LOKI: SORCERER SUPREME? He has the cloak, the spells – he’s even
got Zelma Stanton as his assistant (and possibly more?) – but is this the
chance he needed to become a hero, or is the god of lies dangerously close to
unlimited power? And what happened to STEPHEN STRANGE?

From AfterShock this
week, we get the debut of a new series from writer Tim Seeley with art by
Priscilla Petraites called Brilliant Trash! In the days to come, a super
powered teenage girl wipes the heavily disputed Old City of Jerusalem from the
face of the globe. Now, in American dystopia after the “Lady Last Word
Incident”, a click-bait headline writing “journalist” holds the
key to a med-tech conspiracy that could turn people into gods for the price of
days off their lives. But in a world where news is tailored to every viewpoint,
will anyone believer her?

From Valiant this
week, Ninja-K #1 hits stands! Written by Christos Gage with art by Tomas
Giorello. the United Kingdom’s most dreaded intelligence operative delves into
the cold, calculating world of espionage and international intrigue! For nearly a century, MI-6, the most elite
branch of Britain’s clandestine intelligence service, has honed a ruthlessly
effective, top-secret division – THE NINJA PROGRAMME – into one of its nation’s
most finely wielded weapons. Tasked as the first and last line of defense for
queen and country, this small shadow army of agents and assassins has produced
a succession of notable assets, including NINJA-A, the Queen’s silent weapon of
World War I; NINJA-E, the globetrotting secret agent that pulled the Cold War
back from the brink of armageddon; and, most recently, NINJA-K, aka Colin King,
a brash but fearless instrument of lethality that has saved the world from
madmen and terror at every turn. But
now…an unknown enemy is hunting and killing members of THE NINJA PROGRAMME
one by one – and NINJAK is next on the list.
