New Comics May 16th 2018

It’s a relatively light week this week, comparatively speaking, but lots of old standbys to keep you satiated!

From Boom this week, the Shattered Grid event continues in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #27! As Lord Drakkon’s power and influence grows, the Power Rangers work with new allies from across time and dimensions, including Ranger teams such as Time Force, RPM, and Samurai, to craft a plan to fight back…but is it already too late?

From DC this week, NO JUSTICE continues! After the cliffhanger from issue #1, the teams arrive at Brainiac’s home world to find it already in chaos. Only by splitting up and journeying to the four cosmic trees of Colu will they have any hope of saving the planet…but what’s waiting for them will test the true mettle of their new alliances!

Also this week, New Challengers #1 (of 6) debuts! From the pages of DARK NIGHTS: METAL! Challengers Mountain has returned to the DC Universe and chosen a new team of explorers! Five misfit strangers are given a second chance at life, but only if they obey the orders of the mysterious Professor and execute deadly missions in the most unexplored corners of the multiverse! And if the new Challengers of the Unknown fail…it will be more than just their own lives that hang in the balance!

Lastly, from DC, Superman Special #1 is here this week! “THE PROMISE”! Superman’s world is about to change in a big way, but before it does, the Man of Steel has some unfinished business to attend to…on Dinosaur Island! Superman and a forgotten soldier of the past take one last trip together into the abyss of tomorrow, as Captain Storm now stands face-to-face with the world of today! This extra-sized special also features stories by writers Mark Russell and Ian Flynn with art by Kaare Andrews and Bryan Hitch!

From Image this week, Gideon Falls #3 hits the shelf! Norton gets closer to the secrets of the Black Barn as Fred discovers a grizzly new crime in Gideon Falls.

From Marvel this week, the hunt for Wolverine continues with the debut of new series Claws of the Killer. As word spreads that Wolverine may have returned from the grave, a handful of his greatest adversaries come together to track him down and put him back there. But the brutal and horrific nightmare that SABRETOOTH, LADY DEATHSTRIKE and DAKEN uncover could lead to even more death than even these vicious killers can handle.

Also from Marvel this week, Mighty Thor Gates of Valhalla #1 hits the shelves. “The Death of the Mighty Thor” has come and gone. But Jane Foster’s power to inspire lives on – even in the far future! Don’t miss the tribute to Jason Aaron’s epic tale of Thor and the mighty hammer Mjolnir, drawn by rising star Jen Bartel!
And with or without a Thor, the War of Realms continues. As Malekith’s power grows, the realms will fall – and who is left to stop him? Eisner Award-winning artist Ramón Pérez kicks off the next stage of Jason Aaron’s ongoing saga.

Lastly from Marvel, the X-Men Wedding Special #1 drops this week and features Chris Claremont’s return to the X-Men! One of the biggest milestone events in X-Men history is almost here! Kitty Pryde and Colossus are finally about the tie the knot…but what’s a wedding without the respective bachelor and bachelorette parties? Join Marc Guggenheim and Kelly Thompson for two parties that can only be celebrated Marvel style! All this, plus, a Kitty and Colossus story by legendary X-Men scribe, Chris Claremont!!!

From AfterShock this week, Garth Ennis and Goran Sudzuka debut a new series called A Walk Through Hell! So these two FBI agents walk into a warehouse…
Special Agents Shaw and McGregor handle the routine cases nowadays, which is just the way Shaw likes it. She’s pushing 40, a borderline burnout, the ghastly memories of her last investigation still clinging like shadows. McGregor is younger, more dedicated, hanging onto some measure of idealism whatever the world might throw at him. When two fellow agents go missing inside a Long Beach warehouse, Shaw and McGregor are sent to investigate. But what they find waiting is far from routine, as the local police have already discovered to their cost. Before the night is out, our heroes will encounter terror beyond their most appalling nightmares-in a place where the night may never end at all.

New Comics for April 17th 2018

Man the hits just keep on coming! Another gigantic week lands this Wednesday with some pretty amazing books, so rather than wax poetically about what may come, lets jump right in with a preview of the coolest things to tantalize your eyes!

From Boom! Studios this week, the Shattered Grid crossover event continues in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #26. After the shocking events of the last issue, Lord Drakkon’s victory seems assured-unless the Rangers can find a way to team up with another team of Power Rangers they’ve never met before!

From Dark Horse this week, Jeff Lemire’s breakout hit Black Hammer is back with Age of Doom #1. Picking up immediately where we left off-Lucy Weber has become the new Black Hammer and right as she’s about to reveal to our heroes how they got stuck on the farm and can escape she vanishes. Now our new Black Hammer finds herself trapped in a gritty world filled with punk rock detectives, emo gods, anthropomorphic humans, absurdist heroes, and many more weirdoes, in a mad world in which there is no escape!

From DC this week, its finally here! The Milestone of Milestones. Without which, we wouldn’t even be here! Action Comics #1000 debuts this week, 80 years after issue #1. This 80 page issue ships with 10 different covers and with an all-star lineup of top talent as they pay tribute to the comic that started it all! From today’s explosive action to a previously unpublished tale illustrated by the legendary Curt Swan to the Man of Tomorrow’s future-this very special, oversized issue presents the best of the best in Superman stories!

Also this week, OLD LADY HARLEY! Harley Quinn #42 features a new story arc written by Frank Tieri with art by Mauricet. In this far-flung future tale, Harley returns home thirty years after leaving Coney Island — or, more accurately, she’s DRAGGED home — to deal with the mess that the Gangs of Harley have made in her absence! Her disciples have all splintered into warring tribes, and they’ve torn down what’s left of ravaged, mutated New York City in the process!

From Marvel this week, Red Goblin drama continues in Amazing Spider Man #799. After the events of issue #798 and the debut of Norman Osborn and the Carnage symbiote as Red Goblin, SPIDER-MAN will need to the help of friend and foe alike. The mystery of the RED GOBLIN is finally revealed, and it’s not going to be pretty for Peter Parker!

Also this week, X-Men Gold #26 begins the lead in to the wedding of Kitty Pryde and Colossus! But WHO is tying the knot? And can I bring a plus-one? The X-MEN in their final confrontation with an old foe, a fight that ends up costing RACHEL everything. Plus… The evil alliance you never expected.

From AfterShock this week, Her Infernal Descent #1 hits the shelves written by Lonnie Nadler and Zac Thompson with art by Kyle Charles. A tale of loss told in five parts. Any good mom would march through the inferno of HELL to get her family back. Unable to cope with the burden of grief, a middle-aged mom descends the nine circles of hell to retrieve her forsaken family. Guided by the ghosts of William Blake and Agatha Christie, this no-nonsense mother journeys deep into a bizarre underworld filled with celebrity sinners, surreal landscapes, and absurd tasks. Her Infernal Descent is a retelling of Dante’s Inferno that updates the themes for a modern audience.

New Comics for April 11th 2018

Another big week this week with lots of new stuff for your eyeballs! Lets get right to it!
From Boom! Studios this week, RoboCop is back! Brian Wood, the visionary writer behind DMZ and Briggs Land, and Jorge Coelho ( Venom, Rocket Racoon ) present a provocative vision of a future where justice is crowdsourced and lethal. It’s been decades since the RoboCop program first began. Corporations have taken over the schools and the government.and law enforcement is the biggest private contract of all. Traditional police forces no longer exist, as all citizens are encouraged and rewarded to spy on their neighbors. There is only one authority on the streets: ROBOCOP.

From DC this week, the lead up to Action Comics #1000 begins with the Action Comics 80 Years of Superman Hardcover! This year marks the 80th anniversary of Superman’s debut in ACTION COMICS #1 – and DC is celebrating this date with the publication of the new hardcover ACTION COMICS #1000: 80 YEARS OF SUPERMAN! It’s an extraordinary party as we revisit stories from across the decades, featuring key character debuts, essays and more in a collection curated by Paul Levitz! Highlights of this collection include: A new cover by legendary artist and DC Publisher Jim Lee. A never before unpublished twelve-page Golden Age Superman story believed to have been written by Jerry Siegel with art by the Joe Shuster Studio.

Also this week, Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #42 hits the racks, and starts a new story arc called “Darkstars Rising” written by Robert Venditti with art by Jordi Tarragona and Rafael Sandoval. Hal Jordan is the paragon of a Green Lantern: Courageous and unrelenting. But even a hero can sometimes doubt the methods they’re known to use. And in those moments, something dark creeps in and it can create an evil the universe isn’t ready to face!

Lastly, spinning out of Metal, and fostering the New Age of Heroes, Immortal Men #1 hits this week written by James Tynion with art by Jim Lee. There is a secret history to the DC Universe of heroes who have protected humanity from the shadows since the dawn of time…and who can live forever. Enter the Immortal Men! The team, headed by the Immortal Man, has waged a secret war against the House of Conquest for countless years-but Conquest has dealt a devastating blow. When their base of operations, known as the Campus, is savagely attacked, the Immortal Men must seek out their last hope-an emerging metahuman known as Caden Park! Caden’s emerging powers may be able to ensure the Immortal Men’s survival-but will Conquest get to him first?

From Image this week, Robert Kirkman’s new sci-fi thriller Oblivion Song’s second issue drops! Nathan’s obsession with Oblivion has put a strain on every aspect of his life. His love for Heather is really put to the test now that he’s closer than he’s ever been to finding what he’s truly looking for.

Also from Image, Gideon Falls #2 hits shelves! From superstar writer Jeff Lemire and artist Andrea Sorrentino, The mysteries of the “Black Barn” heighten as the reclusive Norton begins to unravel new clues just as a murder spree breaks out in the town of Gideon Falls. But how is it all connected?! The puzzle pieces begin to fall.

From Marvel this week, Captain America hits its milestone issue with #700 and the conclusion of the “Out of Time” storyarc. Frozen in time, awakened in a decimated future and once again a man out of his era, there is only one way for Steve Rogers to restore order and rebuild civilization-and that’s to rule it as King Captain America! No dream, no hoax, no lie, this IS Cap and this IS happening, believe it or not! PLUS: Mark Waid delivers an untold tale from Captain America’s past, featuring the classic artwork of Jack Kirby!

Also this week, Domino #1 lands from the glorious creative team of Gail Simone and David Baldeon! Impossible curves. Impossible shots. Impossible targets. Marvel’s #1 soldier of fortune is back in an explosive new ongoing series! The product of a failed super-soldier program, Neena Thurman always made her own luck as the sharpshooting mercenary known as Domino… but what happens when her own powers betray her? The hunter becomes the hunted as every mercenary in the game smells blood in the water! Plus: A pair of beloved Marvel characters return!

Finally from Marvel this week, Exiles #1 hits the shelves. Fan-favorite X-Man Blink once joined a team destined to save not just the world, but the entire Multiverse. And now, her teleporting talents are needed once again! When a mysterious threat begins eating away at the fabric of the Multiverse, the Unseen – the man once known as Nick Fury who now can only observe Earth from a lofty post on the moon – must recruit a champion to save it. But she can’t do it alone. Who will join Blink’s new team – and can they ever go home again?

From AfterShock this week, the creative team behind Unholy Grail, Cullen Bunn and Mirko Colak return with Brothers Dracul #1. The legend of Vlad the Impaler is the stuff of nightmares. The inspiration for the most iconic of monsters-Dracula-Vlad tortured and murdered thousands of victims. But what turned him into such a depraved killer? The truth lies in his teenage years, when Vlad and his brother Radu were held hostage by the Ottoman Empire. During this time, the brothers learned many things-archery, riding, the art of combat, matters of court…and how to stalk and slay vampires.

All of that could change, however, when her old foe, Madame Atom, comes to her with an intriguing offer. Madame Atom can give Caroline the power to end her life; she just has to destroy the rest of the world.

Also new this week, Mister Miracle is back with issue #7! Mister Miracle and Big Barda are in a panic. The war with Apokolips isn’t going well. And it’s Barda’s turn to have her past come crashing back into her present as the Female Furies appear on the scene with blood on their minds.

From Image this week a new 5 issue mini series called Infidel hits shelves. A haunted house story for the 21st century, INFIDEL follows an American Muslim woman and her multiracial neighbors who move into a building haunted by entities that feed off xenophobia. Bestselling editor PORNSAK PICHETSHOTE (Swamp Thing) makes his comics-writing debut alongside artist extraordinaire AARON CAMPBELL (The Shadow), award-winning colorist and editor JOSÉ VILLARRUBIA (Promethea) and letterer / designer JEFF POWELL (SCALES & SCOUNDRELS).

From Marvel this week, Bruce Banner HULK is back! Avengers #684 continues the weekly No Surrender story arc in this Oversized issue. Back from the dead! He cannot be reasoned with. He will not be stopped. Bruce Banner isn’t home right now. There is only THE IMMORTAL HULK!

Also from Marvel this week, a New Mutants mini series kicks off called Dead Souls. THEY AREN’T JUST THE X-MEN IN TRAINING ANYMORE! The New Mutants are launching themselves headfirst into some of the creepiest corners of the Marvel Universe, going on the missions no one else will. But does the team know what they are really hunting for? And what are they willing to do to get it? The enigmatic MAGIK will lead her team of WOLFSBANE, RICTOR, BOOM-BOOM and STRONG GUY and bring them face-to-face with paranormal threats that they may not be prepared for, and that might just tear them apart!

From AfterShock this week, a new series called Betrothed starts off , written by Sean Lewis with art by Steve Uy. Welcome to the world of Betrothed! Kieron and Tamara are both seniors at the same high school. They’ve never paid much attention to each other, even though they are the only kids at school who are orphans. On the eve of their eighteenth birthdays, they discover a lifelong secret: in a dimension far away, they are each the leader of an army that is at war with one another… and what’s more, when they turn eighteen, they’re to be Betrothed or Fight to the Death!

New Comics for December 13th 2017

New Comics Release for 12/13/17

I have nothing witty to say in this space for
this weeks new releases. I am exhausted and paranoid that we don’t have enough
bags and boards ready for this weeks comics. Regardless of that, lets talk
about exciting new stuff with pictures for you to read!
From DC this week, Action Comics #993 hits the
shelves and sees the return of fan-favorite Booster Gold In “Booster Shot” part
1. As Superman struggles
to cope with Mr. Oz’s true identity, the Man of Steel turns to the only
“hero” he knows who can prove once and for all if Oz’s story is true:
Booster Gold! But a massive power doesn’t want our heroes venturing through
time, and will do anything it can to sabotage their journey!

From Image this week,
Rumble is back after taking a looong break. John Arcudi and David Rubin return
to their creation to continue the story of Rathraq! But who is he, exactly?
Once an ancient warrior god, he was resurrected as a sword-wielding scarecrow.
And now, Rathraq has transformed yet again-or has he? JOHN ARCUDI and new
artist, superstar DAVID RUBÍN, give you the new face of Rathraq and a new
direction for the series when the critically acclaimed RUMBLE returns!

From Marvel this week, two books get hit with
the Legacy launch with Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #27 and Weapon X #12!
In Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #27, what happens when we
take Squirrel Girl back to her roots? Well, we shoot her into space, OBVIOUSLY.
Nancy and Tippy find themselves on an alien world where all is not what it
seems. Squirrel Girl needs to find a way to get to the other side of the
universe to save ’em, STAT. Intergalactic transport through the cosmic realm?
This sounds like a job for the Sorcerer Supreme! I’m sure Doctor Strange will
be happy to he – I’m sorry, what’s that? Doctor Strange is gone and now LOKI is
Earth’s Sorcerer Supreme? Oh. Well, I’m sure he’ll do his best. After all, what
could possibly go wrong? Guess what, in this issue, everything possible goes
wrong!

In Weapon X #12, mutant genocide is
being committed in a small, third-world country. Now it’s up to Weapon X to
stop this massacre! But the militia they’ll be taking on isn’t full of your
ordinary run-of-the-mill soldiers. These guys are powered by the red pills
taken by the Super-Soldier Nuke! It’s Weapon X vs. a Nuke platoon!

From Aftershock this
week, a new series starring Leonardo da Vinci, his female apprentice and their
wooden robot launches called Monstro Mechanica! Written by Paul Allor with art
by Chris Evenhuis, at the height of the Renaissance, warring factions vie for
control of Leonardo da Vinci’s destructive arsenal. The only thing standing in
their way is Leonardo’s young apprentice and her nine-foot tall mechanical
bodyguard. Together, they navigate a world of wicked men and war machines,
determined to save Leonardo from the world-and the world from Leonardo.

From Black Mask this
week, a new series called Gravetrancers hits the racks. Written by M.L. Miller
with art by James Whynot, Gravetrancers delivers a grisly grindhouse tale of
taboo and terror. On a journey to track down the grave of their estranged
father, Maribel and Anthony find their way to the Malort Cemetery, a strange,
seemingly abandoned field of mostly unmarked tombs. There they encounter an
eccentric clan of grave-robbers who’ve devised a highly-addictive drug made
from human remains–and the fresher the corpse, the stronger the dose. What
started out as an attempt to reconnect with the past becomes a descent into a
psychedelic, neon-colored nightmare, will Maribel and Anthony find their way
through the hallucinogens or will they become the next hit?

Comics Release for November 15th 2017

New Comics Release for 11/15/17

Who is ready for Justice League? I got to see
it on Monday night and it is so much fun! Get out and check it out this
weekend, and while you are out, make sure you stop by your LCS for Local Comic
Shop Day, which is Saturday, November 18
th, which also happens to be
Justice League Day! Lots of cool exclusive comics, hardcovers, etc available at
shops participating in LCSD, and you can grab a free copy of New 52 Justice
League #1 on Saturday too! So get out, see an awesome movie and get some
comics! Speaking of, lets dive into this weeks new releases!
From Dark Horse this week, a new chapter in
the Hellboy mythos kick off with Rasputin Voice of the Dragon #1. A conspiracy
involving the Third Reich and a dead member of a sinister secret society sets
Professor Bruttenholm on his first mission – to find the man who’d soon bring
Hellboy to earth. The mad Russian sorcerer Rasputin had been thought dead since
1916, when a group of noblemen sought to end his influence over the tsar. Now
Rasputin works with the most twisted members of Hitler’s inner circle, and he’s
about to cross paths with the man who’ll go on to found the Bureau for
Paranormal Research and Defense.

From DC this week, the one-shot that everyone
has been waiting for finally hits racks with Batman Who Laughs #1! The
enigmatic narrator of the Dark Knights one-shots finally gets his story told.
Written by James Tynion with art by Riley Rossmo, this story is sure to turn
the level of creepiness in the DC universe up to eleven!

From Image this week, 2 more new series come
barreling out of the gates with Dark Fang #1. Written by Miles Gunter with art
by Kelsey Shannon. Her name is Valla. In
life she was a fisherwoman. In death she is a vampire residing peacefully on
the bottom of the ocean. When a mysterious dark plague descends upon her
aquatic paradise, she must venture to the surface in search of
answers. What she finds is a world headed towards an environmental
collapse that will eventually wipe out her food supply. If Valla is to continue
to have the blood she needs to survive, then she must stop the fossil fuel
industries from destroying the planet-no matter the cost.

Also new this week is
Evolution #1. Written by James Asmus, Joe Keatinge, Chris Sebela, and Josh
Williamson, and illustrated by Joe Infurnari and Jordan Boyd. Human evolution
has taken millions of years to get to this stage. But next week, we become
something new. Around the world, humanity is undergoing rapid and unpredictable
changes, and only three individuals seem to notice that their world is being
reborn. But what can they do about it?

From Marvel this week, the Sorcerer Supreme
gets a new groove with Doctor Strange #381! Written by Donny Cates with art by
Gabriel Hernandez Walta. Evil is everywhere
and the world needs the Sorcerer Supreme more than ever. But is the world ready
for LOKI: SORCERER SUPREME? He has the cloak, the spells – he’s even
got Zelma Stanton as his assistant (and possibly more?) – but is this the
chance he needed to become a hero, or is the god of lies dangerously close to
unlimited power? And what happened to STEPHEN STRANGE?

From AfterShock this
week, we get the debut of a new series from writer Tim Seeley with art by
Priscilla Petraites called Brilliant Trash! In the days to come, a super
powered teenage girl wipes the heavily disputed Old City of Jerusalem from the
face of the globe. Now, in American dystopia after the “Lady Last Word
Incident”, a click-bait headline writing “journalist” holds the
key to a med-tech conspiracy that could turn people into gods for the price of
days off their lives. But in a world where news is tailored to every viewpoint,
will anyone believer her?

From Valiant this
week, Ninja-K #1 hits stands! Written by Christos Gage with art by Tomas
Giorello. the United Kingdom’s most dreaded intelligence operative delves into
the cold, calculating world of espionage and international intrigue! For nearly a century, MI-6, the most elite
branch of Britain’s clandestine intelligence service, has honed a ruthlessly
effective, top-secret division – THE NINJA PROGRAMME – into one of its nation’s
most finely wielded weapons. Tasked as the first and last line of defense for
queen and country, this small shadow army of agents and assassins has produced
a succession of notable assets, including NINJA-A, the Queen’s silent weapon of
World War I; NINJA-E, the globetrotting secret agent that pulled the Cold War
back from the brink of armageddon; and, most recently, NINJA-K, aka Colin King,
a brash but fearless instrument of lethality that has saved the world from
madmen and terror at every turn. But
now…an unknown enemy is hunting and killing members of THE NINJA PROGRAMME
one by one – and NINJAK is next on the list.

New Comics Release for October 18th 2017

New Comics Release for 10/18/17

Lots going on this week as we head into the
last bits of October! Lets not dilly dally and get right to it!
New from Dark Horse this week , from the world
of Black Hammer comes the spin off, Sherlock Frankenstein & the Legion of
Evil #1! Written by Jeff Lemire with art and cover by David Rubin. Lucy Weber, daughter
of the Black Hammer, grew up to become an investigative reporter for the Global
Planet. Now she’s on the hunt for the true story about what happened to Spiral
City’s superheroes after they defeated Anti-God and saved the world. All
answers seem to lie with the dangerous super villain tenants of Spiral City’s
infamous asylum. As she gets closer to the truth she uncovers the dark origin
stories of some of her father’s greatest foes, and learns how they tie into the
puzzle of what happened to Spiral City’s greatest hero.

From DC this week, the Metal train keeps
chugging with a new evil Batman one-shot in Batman The Drowned #1. This
one-shot written by Dan Abnett with art by Philip Tan features the story of the
Dark Matter dimension’s version of Batman/Aquaman in all of her brutal glory!

From IDW this week their new “Black Crown”
imprint kicks off a new series called Kid Lobotomy. Written by Peter Milligan
with art by Tess Fowler. KID LOBOTOMY, a dark,
demented, monthly satire that follows a dysfunctional family of hoteliers. Will
sibling rivalry, seduction, and shapeshifting eventually lead to sanity or
salvation?

From Image this week, a new series called
Maestros hits the shelves. Written and drawn by Steve Skroce, storyboard artist
of The Matrix, and co-creator of We Stand on Guard. The Maestro and his
entire royal family have been murdered. Now, his banished son from Earth will
inherit the Wizard King’s throne along with a spell that turns its user into
GOD. With enemies everywhere, will this Orlando-born millennial be able to keep
his new magic kingdom?

From Marvel this week, Legacy keeps on rolling
with newly renumbered issues. Most notable this week is Mighty Thor #700, “Death of the Mighty Thor” part 1. Written by
Jason Aaron and with art by Russell Dauterman, The final judgement
comes as the Mangog arrives! The War Thor will meet the beast head on. But even
the bloodthirst of this Ultimate Thor may pale in comparison to the might of
the Mangog! The battle rages as Jane’s cancer takes a turn for the worse, and
she might not have to wait for the final judgment at all. The clock is ticking,
and no hammer can save her this time. It’s the beginning of the end that will
lead to the most dramatic return in the Marvel Universe!

From AfterShock this
week a new title spins out of the Animosity universe with Animosity Evolution
#1. One day, the animals woke up. They started thinking. They started talking.
They started taking revenge. Now, they’ve started building. In a city by the
sea, a new power is on the rise…and they’re making an animal kingdom all
their own. From the brilliant mind of creator/writer Marguerite Bennett
with artwork by Eric Gapstur–ANIMOSITY: EVOLUTION is an exciting new series
that expands upon this already amazing world!

From Boom! Studios
this week a staple of 90s cartoons returns in comic format with Rugrats #1! Hang
on to your diapies, babies! We’re teaming up with Nickelodeon for all-new Rugrats
adventures with the most intrepid toddlers to ever bust out of a playpen! Tommy,
Chucky, Phil and Lil have noticed something-they are being watched. Somehow
their parents can see every little thing that they can do. They’re going to
have to find a way to have fun while avoiding the electronic eyes of the
baby cam!

New Comics for September 20th 2017

New Comics Release for 9/20/17

Another big week hits this week with lots of
new offerings, and don’t forget about Batman/Harley Quinn day this Saturday, September 23rd! There are 3 comics available for free at participating stores along with masks and lots of other funs festivities to be sure to check it out! Lets jump right in shall we?
From DC, this week, Metal keeps engaging
readers with 2 new books this week! First is Nightwing #29, the second part in
the Gotham Resistance story arc! One vanquished foe
gives way to another, even worse threat as this crucial tie-in to DC’s METAL
continues! Hopelessly lost in a kingdom of snow and ice, our heroes are set
upon by Mr. Freeze and his fearsome frost giants from the Dark Multiverse! But
help arrives in the form of an at once foreign and familiar Dick Grayson. Also out this week is the first of the
Evil-Batman one-shots, Batman The Red Death #1 written by Josh Williamson with
art by Carmine Di Giandomenico!

From IDW this week, a new take on
Samurai Jack hits the stands with Quantum Jack #1! A ruthless biker gang
ambushes a royal envoy. The name of their leader? SAMURAI JACK! From the team
that brought you HELENA CRASH comes an all-new take on the legendary wandering
samurai that is completely different and yet surprisingly familiar! Wait, what?
How is that even possible? YOU GOTTA READ SAMURAI JACK: QUANTUM JACK TO FIND
OUT!

From Image this week, two new series debut,
the first being Angelic! Written by Si Spurrier with art by Caspar Wijgaard,
this all ages title takes place long after humanity is gone. Its memory lingers
only as misunderstood rituals among mankinds leftovers: the genetically
modified animals they used and abused for eons.
Also from Image this week is the debut of Gasolina by Sean Mackiewicz
and Niko Walter. In their journey south
from El Norte, Amalia and Randy have played many roles in order to survive.
Now, they must become unlikely leaders in the fight against a new cartel who
uses inhuman tactics to ignite the most monstrous war Mexico – and the world –
has ever seen.

From Marvel this week, Totally Awseome Hulk
#23 hits shelves. Written by Greg Pak with art by Ibraim Roberson. Return of
the monster sees Amadeus working to rebuild his fun-loving demeanor after the
Weapon X programs macabre experiments nearly pushed him to the brink.

From AfterShock this
week, Dark Ark #1 makes its debut voyage. Written by Cullen Bunn with art by
Juan Doe. The wickedness of mankind has moved the Creator to destroy the world
by way of the flood. Noah has been tasked with building an ark to save his
family and the animals of the world. But this is not Noah’s story. For darker
powers have commanded the sorcerer Shrae to build his own ark and save the
unnatural creatures of the world-such as the vampires, the dragons, the naga,
and the manticore. But what will happen on a vessel crawling with monsters,
where insidious intrigue and horrific violence are the rule of law?

From Valiant this
week, Bloodshot Salvation #1 hits the racks written by Jeff Lemire with art by
Lewis LaRosa and Mico Suayan. A bloody and vengeful new era for Bloodshot
begins as Ray Garrison escapes his violent past to build the one thing he never
thought he’d earn: a family. But when a hateful secret from his true love’s
past threatens their fragile peace, Bloodshot will be forced to run headlong
into a barrage of blood, bullets, and broken bones for a revenge-fueled assault
that will have crushing consequences for those he holds most dear…
