New Comics for October 10th 2018

Man this week is HUGE! Plus this Saturday, October 13th is Walking Dead Day, so make sure you swing by your local comic shop to pick up some black bagged exclusive covers, reprints of issue #1, and some really cool swag to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the comic! Lets get to it!

From DC this week, foil covers continue! Also, Cursed Comics Cavalcade #1 hits the racks! Horror! Death! Uh…Face-punching! Witness ten all-new stories that promise to be the most terrifying, most shocking and most horrific comic that DC Comics has ever published! (Hyperbole much?) Batman, Wonder Woman, Guy Gardner, Swamp Thing, Zatanna and more of your favorite heroes face unspeakable horrors from the streets of Gotham City to the darkest sectors of the universe.

Also from DC this week, Flash #56 hits the rack! Things are about to get hot-very hot!-when Flash has to battle fire monsters generated by his longtime nemesis, Heat Wave. Unfortunately, the pilot light blew out in Mick Rory’s head, because he’s comatose from the effects of the Sage Force! How can the Scarlet Speedster reach his old frenemy and get him to put out the fire monsters? Looks like Commander Cold takes a demotion…so he can pretend to be Captain Cold and talk Heat Wave down!

From Image this week, a new title called Infinite Dark #1 hits the racks! The universe ended, but onboard the void station Orpheus, a skeleton crew of humanity survived: the last two thousand souls, waiting for a second big bang that may never come. Now, two years into their voyage, Security Director Deva Karrell investigates the station’s first murder-and the otherworldly motives behind it.

Also from Image this week, from DANIEL WARREN JOHNSON, the creator of the Eisner-nominated series EXTREMITY, comes MURDER FALCON! The world is under attack by monsters, and Jake’s life is falling apart: no band, no girl, no future… until he meets Murder Falcon. He was sent from The Heavy to destroy all evil, but he can’t do it without Jake shredding up a storm. Now, with every chord Jake plays on his guitar, the power of metal fuels Murder Falcon into all-out kung fu fury on those that seek to conquer Earth.

From Marvel this week, Namor is back in Avengers #9! WORLD WAR BELOW!With the underwater world on the brink of war, the Avengers go aquatic to save the day, but air-breathers are no longer welcome in the undersea city of Atlantis. And Namor, the Sub-Mariner, lord of the seven seas, has a bold new plan that will change the balance of power on Earth forever.

Spider Geddon continues with issue #1 hitting stands this week! REVENGE OF THE SPIDER-VERSE! Back in 2014, SPIDER-VERSE brought every Spider-Man ever together. This event spinning out of AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #800 has Christos Gage and Dan Slott teaming up to destroy them all. The Inheritors have somehow gotten out of their radioactive prison planet and made their way to the Marvel Universe. It’s going to take a whole Spider-Army to keep them from TAKING IT ALL! Starring Spider-Man, Doctor Octopus, Spider-Gwen, Miles Morales, Spider-Woman, the Spider-Man from the anticipated video game and, well, every Spider-Man and Spider-Woman ever, including some brand-new ones! With Jorge Molina on art, the END OF ALL SPIDERS never looked so good!

Star Wars Solo Adaptation #1 (of 7) blasts onto racks this week! FEATURING BACKSTORY AND SCENES NOT SEEN IN THEATERS! After leaving the IMPERIAL NAVY, a young HAN SOLO seeks adventure by joining a gang of galactic mercenaries – including a 196-year-old Wookiee named CHEWBACCA and a notorious gambler named LANDO CALRISSIAN. But there’s more to the story of the galaxy’s most beloved scoundrel than what you saw in theaters. Why does BECKETT trust him? And what is the connection between the woman who stole Han’s heart and one of Han’s closest friends?

Another one-shot kicks off some new What If’s this week with What if? Punisher #1! WITH GREAT POWER…When Peter Parker’s Uncle Ben is ruthlessly killed by a burglar Peter let escape, he vows to never let the same fate befall another innocent bystander. From then on, he stands as a figure of cold retribution. Criminals beware – the guilty caught in this spider’s web will be PUNISHED. But will Parker stand triumphant…or shattered by this twist of fate? The friendly neighborhood takes a different turn in this WHAT IF? adventure, positing a very different sense of responsibility for the man who will be known as THE PUNISHER, as his battles against villains like the GREEN GOBLIN take a new path!

Lastly from Marvel this week, X-Men Black continues with X-Men Black Mojo #1! THE SPINELESS SHOWMAN TAKES CENTER STAGE! That’s right – that most successful producer ever to pack the cross-time airwaves, the man himself, MOJO, has yet another plan in place the boost his ratings at the X-Men’s expense! And I’m sure he would say it’s THE MOST IMPORTANT COMIC BOOK YOU’LL EVER READ! PLUS: Part 2 of X-MEN BLACK: APOCALYPSE!

From AfterShock this week a new sci-fi series makes its debut with The Last Space Race #1! It started as an anomaly. An outlier in the noise that’s so common in astronomical data. But the truth sends the United States-and the world-careening into what will become humanity’s LAST SPACE RACE. Leading the effort for the United States is one man, Sasha Balodis. A fun-loving tech billionaire turned aerospace titan, Sasha’s seemingly perfect life has been gripped by recent trage-dy. Building and launching the most expensive, most ambitious and most important project in history-well, it gives him something to live for again. There’s only one thing standing in his way: his arch-rival and chief aerospace competitor, Roger Freeman.

From Black Mask Comics this week, a new horror title makes its debut with Devil Within #1 (of 4). Paranormal entities. Demonic possessions. Or is it madness? When newly engaged Michelle and Samantha move into an old house, Michelle starts experiencing disturbing events… rogue reflections in mirrors, strange apparitions, and an errie voice only she can hear. Samantha doesn’t believe in ghosts, but the alternative might be even more terrifying in this hauntingly paranoid thriller

New Comics for September 19th 2018

New Comics Release for 9/19/18

Some really cool stuff coming out this week! A new format Batman title, the Return of snikt! Its too damn hot to be September in Colorado, so lets jump into the cool comics that are hitting the shelves at your Local Comic Shop this Wednesday!

From Boom! Studios this week, a new Go Go Power Rangers One Shot called Back to School hits the racks. It’s Spring Break for the Rangers, and the first time since they received their Power Coins that the Rangers will be apart. As they each embark on their own week-long vacation, these teenagers with attitude discover that being a hero doesn’t always mean having to morph!

From DC this week, Black Label begins! Batman Damned #1 lands this week and is the launch title for the new imprint at DC. The Joker is dead. There is no doubt about that. But whether Batman finally snapped his scrawny neck or some other sinister force in Gotham City did the deed is still a mystery. Problem is, Batman can’t remember… and the more he digs into this labyrinthine case, the more his mind starts to doubt everything he’s uncovering. So who better to set him straight than… John Constantine? Problem with that is as much as John loves a good mystery, he loves messing with people’s heads even more. So with John’s “help,” the pair will delve into the sordid underbelly of Gotham as they race toward the mind-blowing truth of who murdered The Joker. BATMAN: DAMNED is a bimonthly super-natural horror story told by two of comics’ greatest modern creators-a visceral thrill-ride that proudly puts the “black” in BLACK LABEL.

Also from DC this week, Harley Hits #50! In a special anniversary story, “Harley Saves the Universe!”-no kidding! While reading a mysterious Harley Quinn comic book, H.Q. accidentally breaks all of reality. And you know the saying: if you break it, you bought it! Now it’s up to Harley to travel through both time and space to fix all the continuity errors she created. Luckily, she’ll have a little help, ‘cuz riding shotgun is none other than special guest star Jonni DC, Continuity Cop! Good thing, too, because if Harley fails, it means her own mom will be lost forever. Gulp! That doesn’t sound very funny!

From Marvel this week, lots of Annuals for brand new titles! Amazing Spider Man Annual #1 lands this week, and has a throwback black suit story. ears ago, Spider-Man came back from an alien world with a fantastic new costume – one he eventually learned was a living alien symbiote looking to bond with him permanently! But before he rejected the costume that went on to become VENOM, many a night the symbiote would creep onto Peter, and unbeknownst to its host, take them out into the night! Now, for the first time, see just what the symbiote steered Peter into during these mysterious nighttime excursions!

This week also sees the start of the Infinity Warps, with Soldier Supreme #1! Classified 4-F by the military, Stephen Rogers was unable to serve his country in World War II…until a secret government program tapping into arcane sorcery transformed him into the Soldier Supreme, the magical warrior embodiment of the American spirit!

Lastly this week from Marvel, Return of Wolverine #1 hits the stands. He died. Stayed dead for awhile. Then mysteriously appeared, with an infinity stone in his possession. Then the heroes of the Marvel Universe went on a Hunt for him, but now, hes back, bub!

From AfterShock this week a new series debuts called Patience Conviction Revenge #1 written by Patrick Kindlon with art by Marco Ferrari. Disregarded, disrespected and dismissed, Renny has a chip on his shoulder. Once an equal partner in a criminal syndicate that rules Las Vegas, he now finds himself living in a shack in the desert. But the shack has a workshop, and Renny’s been busy. It’s time to march his robot army into the neon hell of a cyberpunk Vegas and retake his seat at the table. Or take the wood from the table and build enough caskets for the whole syndicate. Old friends better run, because Operation PATIENCE! CONVICTION! REVENGE! is underway.

New Comics Release for July 4th 2018

New Comics Release for 7/4/18

Happy Independence Day! Today is new comic book day! It’s a huge day for new books so let’s light the fireworks early in your preview of what’s coming out!

From DC this week, the Bat and the Cat are to be wed! But do they? Batman #50 AND Catwoman #1 both hit the racks tomorrow! Superstar writer Tom King and an all-star lineup of guest classic Bat-artists bring Bruce and Selina to the altar in this cant miss extra page special issue!

Also this week, Joelle Jones takes the helm both writing and drawing Selina Kyle in Catwoman #1. The wedding night’s barely over, but Catwoman’s back on the streets, this time to expose a copycat who’s pulling heists around Gotham City. As Selina cracks the whip on her former criminal cohorts, she’s attracting unwanted attention from one of Gotham’s most dangerous groups. The mob? Nope. Try the GCPD. And as if the Bat-Bride didn’t have enough problems, don’t miss the debut of an all-new villain determined to make trouble for all nine of Selina’s lives.

From Dynamite this week, Elvira Mistress of the Dark gets a new ongoing series! The Mistress of the Dark has become unstuck in time! Elvira crashes Mary Shelley’s monster weekend, beginning an epic journey through horror history, stalked by the most terrifying nightmare to ever walk the Earth. (No spoilers!) Writer David Avallone (Bettie Page, Doc Savage, Twilight Zone) and Dave Acosta (Doc Savage) bring you the thrills, chills and double-entendres in the first chapter of this four-issue miniseries!

From Image this week, a new 12 issue mini-series called Unnatural begins written and drawn by Mirka Andolfo. Leslie is a simple pig girl. She loves sushi, she’s stuck with a job she hates, and she lives under a brutal totalitarian government-one that punishes transgressors for anything deemed “unnatural.” Leslie dreams of something different for herself. But those dreams are becoming dangerous… This Italian hit series by MIRKA ANDOLFO (Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, DC Comics Bombshells) will transport you into a colorful but terrible world-full of anthropomorphic creatures, but light on personal freedoms-by way of a breathtaking plot that travels between thriller and fantasy, with a hint of sensuality.

From Marvel this week, the prefect precursor to the 4th of July debuts with Captain America #1 written by Ta-Nehisi Coates with art by Leinil Francis-Yu. IT IS WINTER IN AMERICA. For over 70 years, he has stood in stalwart defense of our country and its people. But in the aftermath of Hydra’s takeover of the nation, Captain America is a figure of controversy, carrying a tarnished shield…and a new enemy is rising!
Who are the Power Elite? And how do they intend to co-opt and corrupt the symbol that is Captain America?

Also new this week, hot off his run and right out of the pages of Thanos, Donny Cates takes the chains of Cosmic Ghost Rider #1 of 5!. Frank Castle was the Punisher. A deal with the devil made him Ghost Rider. A deal with Galactus made him cosmic. A deal with Thanos made him…DEAD?!? Not to worry, he’s coming back, and he’s got a plan to make the universe a better place that’s going to lead him into an even CRAZIER adventure than he’s ever been in! Join hot new comic (and cosmic?) writer Donny Cates (THANOS, DOCTOR STRANGE) as he pushes his wildest creation past the breaking point!

Lastly, from Donny and Marvel this week, Death of the Inhumans #1 of 5 begins! The Kree have gone murdering, leaving behind a message: Join or die. Thousands of Inhumans have already made their choice – the evidence floats bleeding in space. Black Bolt and his family are next. Rising star Donny Cates and PUNISHER: WAR JOURNAL artist Ariel Olivetti bring their brutal talents to the Inhumans!

From Image this week, a new series from writer Gerry Duggan and artist David O’Sullivan hits shelves called Analog. Five years from now: the security of the internet has been totally destroyed. Get in on the ground floor of this new ongoing series and thrill as we slam Jack’s fist into the faces of spies, mercs, fascists, and eventually less punchable adversaries like a very grumpy artificial intelligence.

Also debuting this week is Brenden Fletcher and Karl Kerschl’s new book Isola, a breathtaking fantasy adventure two decades in the making! The captain of the Royal Guard has fled the capital city with the Queen of Maar, suffering under the effects of an evil spell. Norman Osborn’s offering NO QUARTER, an ultimatum that threatens to finish PETER PARKER once and for all!

Also from Marvel this week, Venomized #1 hits stands written by Cullen Bunn with art by Iban Coello. The story that began in VENOMVERSE reaches its epic conclusion with VENOMIZED! The POISONS, a species that hungers for super-powered symbiotes and their hosts, have picked their next target…THE MARVEL UNIVERSE ITSELF! Their first objective? Put every superhuman in a Klyntar symbiote – and CONSUME THEM! But with VENOM and the X-MEN still missing after the events of “Poison-X,” the planet, and its heroes, is defenseless!

Floppy Copy – Dark Destiny

Ladies and gentlemen, The Grand Doyale has turned on the weekly Floppy Copy sign. If you haven’t already done so, please stow your overly opinionated bullshit underneath the seat in front of you or in an overhead bin. Only room for my overly opinionated bullshit round these parts, know what I mean? Please turn your laptops, tablets and desktop computing devices to full shiny mode. Also make sure your gaming computer chairs and lazyboy recliner backs are in their full and upright position.

If you are seated next to an emergency exit, catch me outside. please read your Floppy and any Previews special catalog located by your seat. If you do not wish to read said Copy of the Floppy described in the event of an emergency, please ask your local John, at Hall of Justice Comics to add something new and special to your pull just for you!
If you have any questions about our Floppy today, please don’t hesitate to ask one of our Internet attendants. (That;s Juan)  Thank you.”
That’s right TOTLB listeners… and hopefully supporters. Its the end of another week, and by that measure we must set our scales of truth, justice, and comic book judgery to maximum warp! So buckle up butter cup, and knuckle down charlie brown as we are all set and ready to take a look at DC’s Trinity, “Dark Destiny” Issues # 12-15.
This arc, had pretty much everything I like, and yet still kinda fell short by my reckoning. Not by much and overall the run was not bad, but that’s kind of the point to my frustration you know? I hate describing Comics with sentiments such as not bad, or pretty good, sorta kinda all right… you get the picture. I mean face value here these four issues should kick ass! You got your main Trinity in Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman, your story based ringers Constantine, Deadman, and Zatanna all coming together to face off against a Demonically Possessed Red Hood, Artemis, and Bizarro. All of them possessed, and by such powerful evil as to completely overcome Zatanna and Deadman drawing Constantine into a magical showdown with a couple immortal badasses in Ra’s al Ghul, and Circe, only to have Batman figure everything out as our  friendly neighborhood Hellblazer plays the distraction, now I wont go to far into the story here as to avoid spoilers and such.
But Whatcha doing DC, come on now buddy, you done got your main 3 amigos dealing in something in which they are not familiar and frankly their failing, and how. Superman literally Gets possessed and we spend an entire comic building the idea that Supes always holds back he never unleashes his full power on even his most powerful foes, but that is all at an end now. We Gotta baby on board and with Clark playing host to beelzebub overhear surly we are in for some all powerful badass demon possessed Superman action; am I right??? Wrong he pretty much does nothing. And why bring in problem specific characters to get wrecked an then overshadowed by Batman… because Science! thats right and pretty much a quote straight outta  issue #14 I believe.

So much wasted potential in my opinion, 3 out of 5 Marthas here and thats being a bit generous.  I feel like Rick from Pawn Stars on this one. Offering you less than half your asking price for a beloved item or treasure while simultaneously assuring you that I think the offer is fair. the subject matter/ characters keep me invested through I will give DC that.
Honestly Dark Destiny is just a so/so story, and the creative teams inability to step off the ride that is full on Batman Erection for something more plot driven or perhaps something more inline with why Deadman, Constantine, and Zatanna are in this run of Trinity at all. But perhaps I judge to harshly, please feel free to comment right here as well as any thoughts and/or suggestions you may have for future Floppys do you Copy?

New Comics for February 21st 2018

Here we go! It’s a big week this week so lets just jump right in!
From Dark Horse this week, we get a new Hellboy One-shot called Burning Season that continues the Hellboy and the BPRD 1955 storyline! Hellboy investigates a rash of spontaneous human combustions in a Florida town unlike any supernatural phenomena he’s seen before-and the fire has an appetite for Bureau agents.

From DC this week, Batman #41 sees the beginning of a new story arc called “Everyone Loves Ivy”. Mikel Janin returns to BATMAN for a brand-new epic! Pamela Isley’s influence can spread as far as vegetation will allow, putting the whole world at her fingertips. Can Batman and Catwoman stand their ground against an entire planet of Poison Ivys?

Also from DC this week, a new mini series begins with Brave and the Bold Batman & Wonder Woman #1. This new mini-series written and illustrated by Liam Sharp (WONDER WOMAN)! When a Celtic god’s murder leads to a war between the fairy folk and a possible breach between worlds, Wonder Woman must find the murderer and keep the peace while Batman investigates strange occurrences in Gotham City. As Diana must turn to the World’s Greatest Detective for help, the two heroes quickly learn their cases may be connected.

From Vertigo this week a new 6 issue mini-series from Josh Williamson and Riley Rossmo starts off called Deathbed. Myth, hack, sex symbol, stark raving lunatic-all of these words have been used to describe Antonio Luna, the world’s greatest living adventurer. Or at least he was until 20 years ago, when he mysteriously vanished from the public eye. Now the ninety-year-old has returned and claims to be on his deathbed. Which is where Valentine Richards, a failed novelist turned reporter, comes in. Val is hired to travel to Luna’s remote castle home and uncover where the old star has been all these years, and just how much of what he says is actually true. But once Val starts to hear Luna’s tale, she finds herself entering into an insane world of psychedelic violence and explosive supernatural adventure.

From IDW this week a new title in the Black Crown imprint of books launches with Punks Not Dead #1. As if being an awkward, bullied 15-year-old isn’t bad enough, “Fergie” Ferguson suddenly discovers he can see dead people. Well, one dead person specifically-the ghost of a certain punk rocker named Sid. Sid’s spirit was trapped in London’s Heathrow Airport for 40 years until the day he met Fergie. Sid’s ghost is now stuck to Fergie-as if Fergie doesn’t have enough on his plate, being raised by a single mum whose idea of parenting is strictly fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants. Now Fergie has to contend with an unruly ghost sidekick and some weird, uncontrollable new “abilities.” How does the father Fergie never knew fit into this mayhem? And why is the Department for Extra-Usual Affairs showing an interest? Never Mind the Bollocks-all of this plus fish fingers, chunky chips, and endless pints of anarchy in the new monthly series PUNKS NOT DEAD!

From Image this week, following the re-release of Kick Ass last week, this week comes Hit Girl! The pint-sized Punisher-meets-Polly-Pocket has left America behind and set off to serve justice around the world. First stop: Colombia. A mother seeking vengeance for the murder of her child enlists Hit-Girl to destroy his killer, but Mindy has bigger plans for Colombia’s most feared hitman. MARK MILLAR and RICARDO LOPEZ ORTIZ join forces for the first chapter of Hit-Girl’s world tour in this new, ongoing monthly series.

From Marvel this week, Doctor Strange sees the start of a new crossover with Doctor Strange Damnation #1. The city of sin gets its biggest sinner yet. When Doctor Strange raises Las Vegas up from its destruction during SECRET EMPIRE, he inadvertently opens a big door for the embodiment of evil, MEPHISTO! The devilish villain takes the city for himself and sets his sights on the rest of the world. It’s going to take heroes from all over the Marvel Universe to defeat him, but there’s nothing simple about fighting the lord of Hell.

Also from Marvel this week, the lead up to Infinity Countdown continues with Infinity Countdown Prime #1. The Infinity Stones. Individually, they grant their wielder great power. Together, they grant the power of a god. Newly reformed and scattered throughout the universe, these artifacts allow the ones who claim them their heart’s desire. Now, as their locations are discovered, forces converge for a battle that will begin the universe down a dark path to the END. Jump onto this exciting ride that will lead to the biggest Infinity yet! Plus: The saga of the Infinity Stones-what they are and how they came to be! From creation to destruction to re-creation, this prose primer will tell you everything you need to know about the legendary cosmic gems!

New Comics for December 6th 2017

New Comics Release for 12/6/17

Well it is December! Man how time flies! With
all of the hubbub surrounding the holidays, make sure you find time to treat
yourself to some comics! And this week proves that there are still some stellar
things in the pipelines for the last of 2017!
From DC this week, the ever-coveted DC
Universe Holiday Special 2017 hits shelves. DC Comics’
finest talents have assembled to bring you a holiday special like you’ve never
seen before! Join Superman, Wonder Woman and the Flash as they deliver powerful
messages of hope like only The Worlds Greatest Super-Heroes can! Plus: Sgt.
Rock fights the Nazis on Hanukah, the Teen Titans take on the literal ghost of
Christmas past, and Swamp Thing battles that creeping feeling of existential
dread! And don’t miss the legendary Denny O’Neil’s return to comics with an
all-new Batman story!

From Image this week,
three new debuts hit the racks, with Paradiso, Sleepless, and the return of
Witchblade!
From writer Ram V and
artist Dev Pramanik, comes Paradiso #1 a new technothriller! The Midnight Event
forever changed the world. Now, centuries later, Jack Kryznan arrives on the
outskirts of Paradiso City, haunted by fragments of childhood memories and in
possession of a mysterious device-one with the power to change the destiny of
this living breathing metropolis, the people who dwell within, and the
guardians who strive for and against it.

From writer Sarah
Vaughn and artist Leila Del Duca comes Sleepless #1, a new fantasy romance
series! Lady “Poppy” Pyppenia is guarded by the Sleepless Knight
Cyrenic, but danger is around every corner once the new king is
coronated.

Lastly, Witchblade is
back! Written by Caitlin Kittredge with art by Roberta Ingranata. Gunned down
and left for dead on a New York rooftop, Alex Underwood’s life should have
ended there-but instead, at the moment of death, she became host to the
Witchblade, a mystical artifact that grants the woman wielding it extraordinary
powers. But the power comes with a heavy cost, and Alex finds herself thrust
into the center of an unseen battle raging on the snowy streets of NYC. Demons
are real and walking among humans, and every one of them is intent on taking
out the Witchblade’s newest host before she becomes too strong to kill. But the
artifact chose Alex for a reason, and she’s not going down without a fight.

From Marvel this week, a special one-shot hits
racks that kicks off a crossover event between Amazing Spider Man and Venom. Amazing Spider Man Venom Inc Alpha #1 is
written by Dan Slott with art by Ryan Stegman. Peter Parker, Eddie Brock and
Flash Thompson have one major thing in common – the Venom symbiote changed all
of their lives. The inky black alien life-form is doubling down on our heroes –
and they’re not the only ones about to be put through the ringer. VENOM INC.
kicks off here and rolls into AMAZING SPIDER-MAN & VENOM as a familiar face
rises to new levels of villainy!

From Boom! Studios
this week, another beloved Nickelodeon cartoon is adapted to comics with Rockos
Modern Life #1! Ryan Ferrier (Regular Show) and Ian McGinty (Adventure Time)
continue BOOM! Studios’ partnership with Nickelodeon with all-new stories about
everyone’s favorite wallaby!
When Rocko faces unemployment, a terrible living
situation, and increasingly slim job prospects, he is forced to find out just
how far he is willing to go to get a job. Features
a backup story by KC Green where Ed Bighead finds himself in the dentist chair
of Dr. Hutchison!

From Dynamite this
week, Barbarella is back and is written by Mike Carey with art by Kenan Yarar. Earth’s
star-crossed daughter is back! When Barbarella wanders into a war zone, the
theocratic rulers of Parosia arrest and imprison her. A prison break is
brewing, but now that she knows what the Parosians do to their own citizens
Barbarella decides to make this fight her own…

New Comics September 29th 2017

New Comics Release for 11/29/17

Hey there Super Friends! We hope everyone had
a great Thanksgiving holiday, and want to welcome you to the last hurrah for
November! A relatively light week this week since it’s the fifth week of the
month filled with annuals, etc so lets dive right in shall we?
From DC this week, a slew of annuals to
satiate your once-yearly craving of oversized stories that may or may not have
anything to do with the current storylines!
Most notable this week is Batman Annual #2. The team that brought you
Batman/Elmer Fudd returns and brings you a tale from the past to see the early
days of the Bat and the Cat! What was Bruce and
Selina’s first date? How did this rivalry blossom into romance, and then go
right back to being a rivalry again?

week, a new 3 issue mini series kicks off with Mystik U #1. Written by Alisa
Kwitney with art by Mike Norton. Leave the world of the mundane behind and step

Zatanna fit in with her new classmates (Enchantress, Sargon the Sorcerer, Faust

From Marvel this week, throwing back to the
90’s we see the revival of one of the breakout beloved charaters from that time
with Darkhawk #51! Years ago, Chris
Powell discovered a mysterious amulet that allowed him to transform into the
spacefaring gladiator known as DARKHAWK. With his newfound edge against crime,
he stood against some of the most extreme threats the Marvel Universe has to
offer! Now, when two members of the Fraternity of Raptors descend on New York
with designs on stealing the amulet and returning it to the stars, it’s not
Darkhawk who has to rise to thechallenge…it’s
Chris Powell!

Also from Marvel this
week, Old Man Logan #31 hits the racks and begins the Marvel Legacy Launch
written by Ed Brisson with art by Mike Deodato. Old Man Logan – the man who was
Wolverine – is up against a foe like no other…the Hand! Logan’s past comes
back to haunt him when a former love drags him into battle with the Hand, who
have bolstered their forces like never before. Just when things couldn’t get
any worse, Logan encounters the mysterious Scarlet Samurai! Will Logan be able

puzzle of what happened to Spiral City’s greatest hero.

the Mangog! The battle rages as Jane’s cancer takes a turn for the worse, and
she might not have to wait for the final judgment at all. The clock is ticking,
and no hammer can save her this time. It’s the beginning of the end that will
lead to the most dramatic return in the Marvel Universe!

From AfterShock this
week a new title spins out of the Animosity universe with Animosity Evolution
#1. One day, the animals woke up. They started thinking. They started talking.
They started taking revenge. Now, they’ve started building. In a city by the
sea, a new power is on the rise…and they’re making an animal kingdom all
their own. From the brilliant mind of creator/writer Marguerite Bennett
with artwork by Eric Gapstur–ANIMOSITY: EVOLUTION is an exciting new series
that expands upon this already amazing world!

From Boom! Studios
this week a staple of 90s cartoons returns in comic format with Rugrats #1! Hang
on to your diapies, babies! We’re teaming up with Nickelodeon for all-new Rugrats
adventures with the most intrepid toddlers to ever bust out of a playpen! Tommy,
Chucky, Phil and Lil have noticed something-they are being watched. Somehow
their parents can see every little thing that they can do. They’re going to
have to find a way to have fun while avoiding the electronic eyes of the
baby cam!

New Comics Release for Juen 14th 2017

New Comics Release for 6/14/17

Starting a little behind this week, so we are
going to jump right in to the new comics summaries!
From DC this week, Dark Days: The Forge #1
hits the stands. DARKNESS COMES TO THE
DC UNIVERSE WITH THE MYSTERY OF THE FORGE! Aquaman, The Flash and more of DC’s
pantheon of heroes suspect Batman of hiding a dark secret that could threaten
the very existence of the multiverse! It’s an epic that will span
generations-but how does it connect to the origins of one of DC’s most legendary
heroes? Written by Scott Snyder & James Tynion and illustrated by Jim
Lee, John Romita Jr and Andy Kubert, this one-shot is going to lead into Dark
Nights: Metal coming this summer!

This week also sees
the debut of the DC/Looney Tunes crossover specials starting with Legion of
Super Heroes/Bugs Bunny #1 and Martian Manhunter/Marvin the Martian #1!

From Image this week, two new series to jump
on! First, Kill the Minotaur #1 hits racks written by Chris Pasetto &
Christian Cantamess with art by Lukas Ketner. Athens lost the war
to Crete. Now, they pay tribute to King Minos by sacrificing their best citizens
to his unearthly labyrinth. Conspirators believe Theseus can be the hero they
need to end the mad king’s bloody reign…but no one on this world has ever
encountered anything like the savage minotaur!

Also available this
week from master of horror, Steve Niles with art by Alison Sampson is Winnebago
Graveyard #1 a new 4 issue mini-series that finds an American family traveling
on vacation who finds themselves stranded in a small town with a sinister
secret!

From Marvel this week, Defenders #1 hits shelves,
and is written by Brian Michael Bendis with art by David Marquez. Daredevil! Luke Cage!
Jessica Jones! Iron Fist! Individually, these four heroes have been on the
front lines of the battle to keep the streets of the city safe and secure! But
now, with a deadly enemy from the dim past making a major move to unite the
underworld, they will need to become more – they will need to become DEFENDERS!

From Aftershock this week, we get the
debut of a new series written by the legendary Garth Ennis with art by Russell
Braun called Jimmy’s Bastards. Jimmy Regent,
Britain’s number one super-spy, has got it all: intrigue, adventure, a license
to shoot whoever he likes and beautiful women falling at his feet. He also has
a new partner who isn’t quite as impressed by Jimmy as all other women appear
to be. Now, there’s a price to pay for Jimmy’s multiple romantic conquests –
the results of which are about to come calling in the worst possible way.
